Our Approach
Who We Are
At The Resilient Self, LLC, our work is trauma-informed and draws from multiple evidence-based modalities, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), CBT, REBT, DBT, and client-centered approaches. We emphasize practical skills and measurable progress in daily life.
Sessions are collaborative. We partner with clients to understand presenting concerns, explore new responses, and adjust the work as needed. The process is paced thoughtfully to remain manageable and effective.
An initial session typically includes discussion of the client’s goals, presenting concerns, and whether the therapeutic approach is a good fit. From there, we develop a plan aligned with the client’s objectives.

SERVICES
How We Work
Treatment is collaborative and specific. Sessions are structured enough to be useful and flexible enough to follow what actually matters that week. Depending on the presenting concern, work may draw from:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), to examine the thoughts, beliefs, and habits that keep distress in place.
Trauma-Focused CBT and other trauma-informed approaches, used when the nervous system is carrying more than insight alone can move.
Couples and relationship work, including Gottman-informed strategies when the goal is to change the pattern between people, not just the story each person tells about the other.
Assessment, treatment planning, and skills practice that can travel out of the office and into daily life.
You will leave sessions knowing what we worked on, why it matters, and what to try next. Progress is measured in lived change—not in how well someone performs insight.

About Alexis Landram, LPC
Owner & Psychotherapist
Hello, I’m Alexis. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of The Resilient Self, LLC. I founded the practice to create a supportive environment where clients can address life’s challenges and develop greater strength and clarity.
I specialize in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), along with CBT, REBT, DBT, and client-centered approaches. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I provide mental health assessments and evaluations that include diagnostic impressions and practical treatment recommendations. For parents navigating separation or co-parenting, I offer structured guidance and reconciliation support.
In addition to clinical work, I have developed and delivered trauma-related trainings for caseworkers, foster parents, and community providers. I also bring experience as a clinical supervisor, supporting other therapists in case review, skill development, and ethical practice.
My approach is collaborative and straightforward. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your family, my goal is to help you leave with greater clarity, practical tools, and greater resilience.

Starting therapy is often less about being ready and more about being tired of carrying it alone. If you are considering that first conversation, you are already doing something resilient. We will meet you there—and we will do the rest of the work together.
